Walls.io Lens turns your audience's devices into a digital photo booth. They don't need to download an app, and their photos and Loops (gif format) are posted directly to your social wall. Your branded frames, stickers and backgrounds are what make those posts look like your event or web embed and not just a stream of random selfies.
Many visitors never find these options, though, because they don't know they exist. Here are some proven tips to make sure your branded assets get seen and used.
đĄBefore optimizing your photo booth, read how to set it up here.
Our six tips:
1. Upload custom assets that are tailored to your brand
While Walls.io does include default stickers and frames, your audience is more likely to explore the sticker menu if they fit the event they're attending or the campaign they're interacting with.
Swap the default set for custom stickers that fit your theme, your event hashtag, logo, mascot, speech bubbles ("First time at [Event]!", "Hello from Vienna!") or inside jokes from your community.
Keep it curated: A choice of 5 stickers, 5 frames, and 5 backgrounds work better than 40 forgettable ones, for example.
â ď¸ Please note: Stickers, frames, and backgrounds must be uploaded as transparent PNG files. The recommended resolution for each category can be found by clicking on the blue information box.
2. Make frames automatic
Upload a few frame variations so that you wall always looks varied while staying on brands.
You can then toggle on "Always use a random frame" so that every post gets one automatically even if the visitor hasn't selected one.
3. Use the "Pin" feature to encourage your audience
Even if the QR code is displayed big and bold on your wall, your visitors might still need some nudging. A reminder and clear instructions that are pinned to the top of the wall work best for our customers.
You can set this up quickly in the backend. First, go to Promotion > Native Posts and click "Create Post."
In the dialog that opens:
1. Add your image
2. Add post details such as user name, location, link, and caption. The user name is mandatory.
2. Click "Save."
Then go to Moderation > Moderate Posts, and click Pin in the post's toolbar.
The post will always be displayed at the top of the wall so that it is visible to all visitors.
4. Show, Don't Tell: Seed the Wall With Examples
People copy what they see. If the first posts on your wall are plain selfies, everyone after them will post plain selfies too.
Submit 3â5 example posts yourself before doors open, each using a different frame, a few stickers and a background.
Pin your best example so it stays visible on the wall throughout the event.
Ask your team, speakers or hosts to post the first "real" photos with stickers to set the tone.
5. Give People a Reason to Get Creative
A small incentive gets attendees to explore every option the photo booth offers. This also helps encourage lead generation.
Run a "most creative post" contest: the best use of stickers and frames wins a prize. Collect participants' contact details through the lead form so you can reach the winner.
Feature winners on the wall by pinning their posts. Recognition alone motivates others to join in.
6. Bring Sponsors Into the Booth
Sponsored frames and stickers add value for your partners and give attendees more to choose from.
Offer branded frames or stickers as part of sponsorship packages. Sponsors often promote the photo booth to their own audience, which drives extra traffic.
Combine with "Always use a random frame" to guarantee sponsor visibility on the wall.
And finally, it's always recommended to promote the photo booth on social media just before an event or campaign. Adding an image of the social wall with a couple of example posts will likely inspire your visitors or you can also provide a sneak peek for an upcoming competition. The more spotlight you give the photo booth, the more traction it will get, and the more lead submissions you will be able to collectđ
