Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a method of adding additional security to your account. The first "factor" is your usual password which is standard for any account. The second "factor" is a verification code retrieved from an app on a mobile device or computer.
To secure your Walls.io account using 2FA, you'll need to install an app like Google Authenticator or use a password manager with 2FA support like 1password. Walls.io supports any standard authentication app; here's a list of some we've tested:
1password (all platforms)
LastPass (all platforms)
How to enable 2FA for your Walls.io account
To enable 2FA, go to your profile settings and switch to the "Security" section (https://app.walls.io/me#-security):
Click "Enable 2FA" and go to the authentication process:
In your authenticator app, use the camera to scan the QR code. Alternatively, you can enter the long alpha-numeric code offered. After successfully scanning the code, your authenticator app will list Walls.io and provide a 6-digit code valid for 30 seconds (after that, a new code is generated).
Enter the 6-digit code in step 2:
How will enabling 2FA affect logging in to Walls.io?
After enabling 2FA for your account, you'll have to prove your identity by entering the 6-digit code every time you log in to Walls.io.
