With Walls.io, you can automatically import messages from Discord onto your Wall. It's easy to achieve this with our Zapier integration. This step-by-step guide explains how it's done.
🚨 Important: This integration requires access to the Walls.io API, which can be purchased as an add-on for all plans. API access is also included in our Enterprise plans and some legacy plans.
1. Sign-up to Zapier
To get started, sign up with Zapier (https://zapier.com/) if you haven't already. Zapier is a marketing tool that allows you to connect hundreds of apps without coding skills. Zapier is offering free plans, so you can get started right away!
2. Enable API access for your wall
In Walls.io, go to "Settings" -> "API Access" and activate the access token:
3. Create & name your Zap
In Zapier, start to create your "Zap" by clicking "Make a Zap" (a Zap is kind of a "recipe" that will connect two apps, in our case Discord + Walls.io). Enter a name for your Zap, f.e. "Discord to Walls.io".
4. Choose "Discord" for the Trigger App
5. Choose "New Message Posted to Channel" as trigger event:
This trigger will be fired every time a new message is posted to your chosen Discord channel.
6. Sign in to Discord
If this is your first Zap using Discord, you'll have to "Sign in to Discord" to give Zapier permission to access your Discord server:
7. Set up trigger
Next, pick the channel you want to have pushed to your wall:
Clicking "Test Trigger" will bring in the most recent message:
8. Choose "Walls.io" for the Action
9. Choose "Create Post" for the action event:
10. Sign in to Walls.io
If this is your first Zap using Walls.io, you'll have to "Sign in to Walls.io" and copy/paste the API token obtained in step 2:
11. Customize Post
Finally, you need to map the Discord fields to Walls.io. We recommend to get started with these fields:
Content
Author Username
Select True
for Moderation Status
if you want to set your wall to Automatic Moderation. If you prefer to have Manual Moderation (=approve each post manually before it gets displayed on your social Wall), select "False".
11. Test your Zap and turn it on!
After turning on your Zap, all messages on your Discord channel will be automatically sent to your Wall! 🚀
12. Try out other triggers!
In this example, we've used the trigger "New Message Posted to Channel" to display all new messages on your wall. The Discord app on Zapier offers many different triggers, like "New Reaction on Message" or "New User Added". You can find a full list here!
