Mandatory Requirements:
To start using Instagram content on your social wall, you'll need:
An Instagram Business account (NOT personal and NOT creator account)โฆ
โฆ that is connected to a Facebook page
Full access control of the Facebook page connected to the Instagram Business account
๐ Those are strict requirements by Instagram that we can't work around!
Please note that you will be redirected to Facebook while connecting your Instagram account since Instagram and Facebook are owned by the same company and are accessed through the same API (Application Programming Interface).
How to verify if your Instagram account is a Business account?
Open the Instagram app on a smartphone logged in with the account in question
Navigate to your profile
Click the hamburger menu at the top right
Click โSettings and privacyโ or โSettingsโ
Then click โAccount type and toolsโ or โCreator tools and controlsโ or โBusiness and ad toolsโ. If you canโt find those options, click โPreferencesโ and scroll down to the bottom. Depending on your account type, youโll see different items.
Finally, click โSwitch account typeโ:
If you see options โSwitch to Personal Accountโ and โSwitch to Creator Accountโ - it is a Business account!If you see options โSwitch to Professional Accountโ or โSwitch to Business Accountโ - it is NOT a Business account!
๐ It is not possible to check if your Instagram account is a Business profile from a desktop!
How to connect an Instagram Business account to a Facebook page?
Make sure you're logged into the Facebook page you want to connect to an Instagram Business account. You can see that in the top right corner:
Click on the Profile picture of your Facebook page. Then click on "Settings & privacy":
Next, click on "Settings":
Click on "Linked accounts" on the left sidebar:
Afterwards, click "Instagram" (or open this page: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=linked_instagram) and connect your Instagram account:
โClick "Connect":
You will see a green checkmark if you managed to successfully connect your Instagram account:
๐ Make sure to confirm the email address, which is connected to the Instagram business account, and to the Facebook page that is linked to the Instagram business account.
What to do if I cannot connect my Facebook page to an Instagram Business account?
1. Make sure you have full access control of the Facebook page.
โ๏ธOnly Facebook users who have gotten full control of the Facebook page or page's owner are able to connect to an Instagram Business account. You can see People with Facebook access here: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=profile_access
Settings > New Pages Experience > Page Access
You can identify if the person has full control of the Facebook page if (s)he has access to:
Page deletion
Permissions,
Content,
Messages
Community activity
Ads
Insights
๐ If you cannot see People with Facebook access here: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=profile_access, you do NOT have full access control of the Facebook page.
2. Make sure that your Facebook page has no quality issues. You can see this here: https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=pages&setting_id=profile_status after logging into your Facebook page:
Settings > New Pages Experience > Page Quality
If there are any complaints about your content, you will see them on that page and you will NOT be able to set the connection to Walls.io.
3. Make sure that there are no issues on the Dashboard of your Facebook page. You can access it the following way: go to your Facebook page (i.e. https://www.facebook.com/wallsiosupport/) and click on "Professional dashboard":
Then, you'll see an overview page of your Dashboard. It looks like this one if there are no issues:
If your Instagram account is not properly connected to the Facebook page, you will see it on this page.

โDon't forget to check the permissions on Facebook:
๐ Make sure you have granted Walls.io full access rights on the Facebook Business Integrations page. Don't worry: we cannot and will never publish to your page or account.
1. Log into your Facebook account (not the business page) and go to the "Business integrations" page: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=business_tools. Then, click "view and edit" on the Walls.io integration.

2. Make sure you have granted us full access rights to Walls.io for all relevant Facebook Pages and Instagram accounts (that you want to connect):

3. Afterwards, please try to reconnect your Instagram account(s): https://walls.io/me#connections or https://app.walls.io/dashboard

If it works - Great, the Instagram account is now connected.
โ If this has NOT helped, please follow these steps:
1. Navigate to https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=business_tools and remove Walls.io completely from your authorized business tools

2. Go to https://app.walls.io/dashboard and reconnect to Instagram and Facebook
3. When the Facebook authentication dialog appears, click on "Continue as your FB name" and in the next step, please, select the Instagram account you want to add:

5. Make sure to grant full access rights to walls.io:
6. The next step is to press "Continue as [your username]" and voilร - it should be connected!
