Our ongoing partnership with Cvent ensures the best compatibility of our products. Currently, Walls.io can be integrated to Cvent in the following ways:

  • Embedding the social wall widget on the Event Website

  • Embedding the social wall widget on Session pages in Attendee Hub

  • Add a social wall card to Attendee Hub Pages

In this tutorial, we'll explain all three kinds of integration.

Setting up your Social Wall

1. Sign-up at Walls.io & set up your social wall

To get started, sign-up for a free Walls.io account. Setting up your social wall is fairly easy – connect your social media accounts and start adding sources – i.e., hashtags around your brand and products or your owned social media accounts. For further information, check out our tutorial or watch the video below!

2. Copy the iframe embed code from your wall

In your Walls.io account, go to "Embed & Display" and copy the iframe embed code as marked in the screenshot below (it's sufficient to click on the code to copy it to your clipboard):

For most use cases, we recommend sticking with our "Fluid" default layout – if you prefer another layout or want to pick a different color scheme or language, please have a look at the advanced settings before you copy the Iframe embed code:

Most options should be pretty self-explanatory, but we've more information available here.


Embedding the social wall on the Event Website

The Event Website module in your Cvent dashboard allows you to set up a public-facing website to promote your event.

1. Open the Site Designer module in your Cvent dashboard

In the main navigation, go to Website - Event Website, than click Open Site Navigator:

Hint: if you can't find the Event Website module in your Cvent dashboard, go to General - Event Features and enable the Website module. If this option is not available, get in touch with your Cvent representative!

2. Create a new Code element

In the designer, drag the Code element to the place on your page where you want the widget to be inserted. Alternatively, you can use the "+" buttons on the page layout.

Copy/paste the Walls.io iframe embed code into the text box and click Apply changes:

3. Voilà – your social wall is successfully embedded on the Event Website!

Don't forget to Save and/or Publish your changes! You can use the button Device Preview, to get a live preview of your Event Website on desktop and mobile devices.


Embedding the Walls.io widget on Session pages in Attendee Hub

1. Open the Attendee Hub module in your Cvent dashboard & create a session

The Attendee Hub module in your Cvent dashboard allows you to set up the attendee-facing website and mobile app. Both website and app can be set up by clicking on Manage website and app:

Hint: if you can't find the Attendee Hub module in your Cvent dashboard, go to General - Event Features and enable the Attendee Hub and Agenda modules. If this option is not available, get in touch with your Cvent representative!

To embed our social wall to a session page, make sure you have created at least one session in Features - Session Content first. If you want to learn how to manage and create sessions, please refer to the Cvent documentation. Here's our example session:

2. Create a new Code Widget and assign it to the session

Next, go to Features - Session Content and set up Code Widgets – this is where our embed code will go:

Click Create code widget next:

Enter Social Wall as name, and choose an icon to your liking:

Next, click Select sessions...

...and choose the session you want to add the widget to:

Click Add code...

...and copy/paste the Walls.io iframe embed code into the text box:

Important: Don't forget to click Update page, or the widget won't show up!

3. Voilà – your social wall is successfully embedded on session page!

When opening the session page in Attendee Hub, you will now see the social wall widget in the sidebar:


Add a social wall card to Attendee Hub Pages

1. Open the Attendee Hub module in your Cvent dashboard

Cvent allows you to add cards (= links) on any page of Attendee Hub. Let's try this on by clicking on Edit home page:

2. Create a card

Next, click Create card:

You can pick from various card options, we'll go with a Single link card:

Enter "Social Wall" for the card's name:

Finally, choose Web as Link Type, enter the Link text and copy/paste the URL of your wall (f.e. https://my.walls.io/YOURWALL). You can also upload an image for your card:

3. Schedule the card

Important: Don't forget to click Schedule your cards to make sure that your card is displayed always (or only during certain times, if required). Again, don't forget to click Update page!

4. Voilà – your social wall card is successfully added to the homepage!

Click the card to open the social wall:

Hint: the card will also work great on the mobile Attendee Hub!
