1. Sign up at Walls.io & set up your social wall
To get started, sign up for a Walls.io trial. Setting up your social wall is fairly easy - connect your social media accounts and start adding sources – i.e. hashtags around your brand and products, or your owned social media accounts. For further information, check out our tutorial or watch the video below!
2. Copy the link to your wall
In your Walls.io account, click View wall and copy the link to your wall (f.e. https://my.walls.io/starbucks):
3. Embed your social wall on VenuIQ
In your VenuIQ account, select your conference, scroll down to Content Management and click Add.
To integrate your social wall into the app, you will only need to fill in the Title, Key, and External Link fields.
Title — The title of the page you’re creating.
Key — This is what appears at the end of the URL for the page. (Irrelevant for apps, but still a compulsory field nevertheless)
External Link — Paste the URL of your social wall here.
Once you’ve done that you’ll see the following settings, please ensure that you set Open in app to Yes.
Open in app — when you tick Yes then the page will be opened within the app, instead of a third party browser.
Open in portal — when you tick Yes then the page will be opened within the web portal tab, instead of opening it in another tab.
Status — Active/Inactive
After you’ve set up all the fields, double check to make sure you’re happy with it and click Submit.
4. Add your social wall to the VenuIQ app’s main menu
To add your social wall to your app and/or web portal menu, head over to Configuration and click App Menu.
Once you’re on this page, scroll down until you find your CMS page.
Note: it will only be visible if is set to ‘Active’.
Once you find it, make sure you tick it and that it’s set to Private.
If you click the blue + button on the right, you can also control who sees it and which menu it can be found on.
Finally, if you’re happy with the configuration, click Submit.
Voilà – your Walls.io social wall is successfully embedded on VenuIQ!
More tips & tricks:
The Walls.io widget is fully responsive – which means it will automatically adapt to the size of the section you are embedding it to.
You can enable automatic scrolling on your Wall so that it scrolls automatically.
