How to add your Walls.io social media feed to InEvent?

Currently, Walls.io can be integrated into InEvent in the following ways:

  • Embedding the social wall widget into the Virtual Lobby.

  • Embedding the social wall widget into your event app.

  • Embedding the social wall as an activity on your Agenda.

  • Embedding the social wall into your event website.

In this tutorial, we'll explain all four kinds of integration.

Setting up your Social Wall

1. Sign up at Walls.io & set up your social wall

To get started, sign up for a Walls.io trial. Setting up your social wall is fairly easy – connect your social media accounts and start adding sources – f.e. hashtags around your brand and products or your owned social media accounts. 2. Copy the URL of your wall

In your Walls.io account, click View wall and copy the link to your wall.

How to embed your Walls.io social wall into the InEvent Virtual Lobby

To embed your social wall in the InEvent Virtual Lobby, watch this short video or discover the step-by-step guide below.

You can embed your social wall into the Virtual Lobby of your InEvent event by creating a custom tab. To do so:

  1. In your InEvent account, go to Settings > Tabs.

  2. Click on the Virtual Lobby tab and then on +New Item.

  3. In the pop-up window, set the Item type to Custom. Name your tab and paste the URL of your social wall to the Item link. Click Create.

  4. After creating an item, click the Edit button in the right corner of your screen. You can drag and drop the item to change its position on the Virtual Lobby menu. Check the box in the Visible column to ensure the item is visible.

  5. You can also choose an icon for your social wall tab on the right-hand menu. There, scroll down and select Yes in the Embed section. Click End.

Voilà – your social wall is successfully embedded in InEvent Virtual Lobby!

How to embed your Walls.io social wall into your InEvent event app

To embed your social wall in InEvent App, watch this short video or discover the step-by-step guide below.

Create a custom menu item to add your social wall to your InEvent app.

  1. In your InEvent account, go to Settings > Tabs.

  2. Click on the Live App tab and then on +New Item. In the pop-up window, name your menu item, paste the URL of your wall and click Create.

  3. After creating an item, click the Edit button in the right corner of your screen.

    You can drag and drop the item to change its position on the Virtual Lobby menu.

  4. Check the box in the Visible column to ensure the item is visible.

    You can also choose an icon for your social wall tab on the right-hand menu.

Voilà – your Walls.io social wall is successfully embedded in the InEvent app!

How to add your social wall as an activity on your InEvent Agenda

To embed your social wall as an Agenda activity on InEvent, watch this short video or discover the step-by-step guide below.

  1. To embed your social wall as an activity on your event’s Agenda, go to Agenda > Activities.

  2. Click on the desired Activity and press Edit.

  3. On the Details page, scroll down to the Room video mode and choose Pre-recorded.

  4. Pick Use a link under Pre-recorded video and paste the URL of your wall below.

  5. Check the box with Treat pre-recorded video as an embed frame. Click End.

🎉

Voilà – your Walls.io social wall is successfully embedded as one of the activities on your InEvent Agenda!

How to embed your Walls.io social wall into the InEvent event website

To embed your social wall into the InEvent event website, watch this short video or discover the step-by-step guide below.

To embed your social wall into your event website, you’ll need to copy the iframe embed code from your wall.

  1. In your Walls.io account, go to Embed & Display and copy the iframe embed code as marked in the screenshot below (it's sufficient to click on the code to copy it to your clipboard).

  2. In your InEvent account, go to Marketing > Landing pages > Website.

  3. Click the Edit button in the right corner. On the left-hand menu, choose a Custom section, name it, and click +Section.

  4. After your new custom section appears on the menu, click on the Settings icon.. Paste the iframe code of your social wall to the content field. Click Save.

Voilà – your Walls.io social wall is successfully embedded on your event website!

More tips & tricks:

  • The Walls.io widget is fully responsive – which means it will automatically adapt to the size of the section you are embedding it to. You can override this by setting fixed width, height, rows, and columns when generating the embed code (we recommend going with the default for maximum layout compatibility).
